I reached out to Sylvan Rocks about attempting an ascent of Devil's Tower - and they were amazing! I fully recommend them to anyone interested in the Tower, in climbing at Custer State Park, or climbing on Mt. Rushmore itself. My guide for the week was Doug, and I can't recommend him enough. I have significant experience as a climber, and Doug was both respectful of my experience, and informative about how and why he was doing everything. We had a great three days of climbing - two days of warm-up and prep, and then a full-day of climbing on Devil's Tower itself. I got a ton of climbing in, and had an amazing time! I absolutely hope to come back again soon!

Great experience, the instruction felt personal, and time on the rocks was maximized. Shoutout to the incredible instructors, Shankar, Carissa and Taylor; they were relaxed, down to earth and cool. They were thorough with safety and technique, and I felt confident with the basic knowledge I left with.

My husband and I used Sylvan Rocks climbing school for a lesson at Palisades State Park. We had limited climbing experience, but our instructor, Jeff, did an amazing job. My husband and I had different comfort levels on the rocks, but Jeff was still able to keep us both engaged. He pushed our limits without making us feel uncomfortable. Jeff's passion for the sport is evident and only surpassed by his passion to teach it. You 'rock' Jeff 😁! I cannot recommend enough!
