I highly recommend Sylvan Rocks. We climbed at Custer State Park for the 4 hour package with a family group of 11 people (ages 9 to 47) and our guides (Lindsay, Chris, Ben) expertly trained and supported us all in climbing. They took time to patiently outfit our group, trained us in climbing techniques, encouraged climbers, and coached those who wanted to learn belay technique. I noticed how they used our names and gently provided support when climbers were stuck. The experience left us with an interest in climbing again!

Yesterday my husband, 13-year-old son and I went rock climbing for the first time with our guide, Bears! This was one of the most amazing things we have done this summer in the Black Hills! I would highly recommend Sylvan Rocks and Bears! She was so patient with us as first timers and with our son and all his questions! I never in a million years thought we would be rock climbing but we are ready to book our next climb already a day later!

Exceeded all expectations. The Devils tower Blitz was a bucket list experience I couldn’t imagine achieving without Sylvan Rocks. Doug Plourde is a true professional. Safety is always first. Education is the next step. The most exciting accomplishment you can have in one weekend!
