Arguably the most fun course we offer! By choosing an eight-hour Adventure Climbing course, you will get a private day with your guide, and have the opportunity to climb some of the more exciting and larger formations in our area, such as the Cathedral Spires. During an eight-hour Adventure Climbing course, our climbing guides will meet you at the South Dakota Outdoor Shop in Custer, South Dakota. Your guide will outfit you with all the necessary climbing equipment for your day, and talk to you about your experience, skill level, and desired outcomes for the day. After your guide selects a climbing destination that best matches your skills and desires, you will then travel to one of several different climbing locations located in Custer State Park or Mount Rushmore National Memorial (transportation not provided). For Adventure Climbing courses at Devils Tower, meeting arrangements will be finalized in advance.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to climb more summits than any of our other course offerings. Our eight-hour Adventure Climbing course also allows more time to hone your technical skills, such as lead climbing or self/partner rescue.
Ages 5 and up, parent or guardian MUST be present!
