Custer State Park After your climbing adventure have a refreshing dip in Sylvan Lake, enjoy the scenery of Needles Highway and pet a buffalo on the wildlife loop drive (just kidding buffalo are dangerous).
Jewel Cave National Monument is the second longest cave in the world with over 135 miles of passages. They have a great visitor's center and offer a variety of daily tour adventures. 605-673-2288
Wind Cave National Park, near Hot Springs South Dakota, is one of the world's longest, most complex caves. There is a lot going on above ground too--thousands of acres of mixed grass prairie with hiking trails and plenty of wildlife. 605-745-4600

Bicycling The 114 mile long Mickelson Trail is a beautiful rails-to-trails system that spans the Black Hills Forest from north to south and gives you a taste of the natural variety of the area. There are also hundreds of miles of excellent mountain biking trails from rugged singe track to gently rolling logging roads.
Hiking The Black Hills Forest, Custer Park and adjacent National Parks have many miles of scenic trails over the entire Black Hills.
Hike Harney Peak and enjoy the view from the historic fire lookout tower on the highest point in South Dakota.
