Custer State Park Game Lodge - Sit out on the porch and enjoy the view and a cold
beverage just like President Calvin Coolidge must have in 1927 when he decided the
Game Lodge would be the "Summer White House."
Built in 1920, this South Dakota landmark is listed on the
National Register of Historic Places. The
rooms are historic, and the food in the dining area excellent. You can also stay in the cabins and house
keeping tents that surround the lodge.
Especially if planning a South
Dakota vacation in the spring and fall, the warmth of
the southern hills will be greatly enjoyed. Staying on the wildlife loop is a great place to base your Black Hills vacation.
