I just wanted to let you know that my wife and I had a BLAST climbing w/ Sylvan Rocks last Tuesday.  Scott was great; he really pushed us to try even when we were a little freaked out and he was also really patient and mellow-especially with me and my inability to tie a figure 8 knot.  The day was definitely money well spent and I look forward to doing it again next year.  I'm hoping to bring my son along next time.  Thanks and thanks again.

When folks are planning their vacations, we get a lot of emails asking who Basic Rock is suitable for or which Sylvan Rocks course is the best Black Hills activity for them.....  Simply put, if you are looking to do something great and a little out of the ordinary on your Black Hills Vacation, you have come to the right place. 

If you have never climbed before, we recommend either the Discover Climbing adventure or our Basic Rock course. 

The biggest difference between the two is time.  Both start out with some top roping and climbing safety fundamentals, Basic Rock gives us enough time to move on and get to more of the beautiful Black HIlls Climbing summits in Custer State Park.  After taking it all in, and grabbing a photo or 2, we rappel off and go tell stories.  Basic Rock is a complete climbing day where-as Discover Climbing is a perfect intro and tons of fun for people with limited time.    With more time, Basic Rock will take you to higher summits.  With Discover Climbing we get you on the rock fast to allow you the maximum climbing time.  We have had guest from from ages 4 to 74 enjoy both courses.
